Women's Conference

Over that last 2 days, I have had the wonderful opportunity to go to Women's Conference for the first time. My dear sweet friend Sheia and I went. What a great, and wonderful experience. I cannot believe that we have this so close to us, and none of my family has really made it a tradition before. It was packed, and yes at times, I felt like cattle going from one class to the next, in herds. But worth it for sure. It's fun to see where people have traveled from to be apart of it. There were many speakers that were great, and did a great job, but I did have some in particular that I loved. I loved the concert that was Thursday evening. It featured some really great people, that before then, would not have really listened to their stuff, but will now. I liked them all, but in particular, I loved Hilary Weeks the best.

She was so real, and funny, and had a great message.

The opening and closing sessions on Friday were wonderful, and my favorite.
The opening speaker was Julie B. Beck. I think she is a wonderful woman, and she has a special place in my heart. I don't know why. I don't really know her, but did sit in a session at the temple, and looked back, and she was sitting 3 rows behind me. I felt like I was in the presence of a remarkable woman..
The closing speaker, was Elder L. Tom Perry. He and his wife spoke, and I love that too.

The class I enjoyed most, that spoke to my heart was "I have learned, in Whatsoever State I am, therewith to be Content" The first speaker was a young woman who'd been widowed after only 3 years of marriage, and has a toddler. She had some wonderful things to say. She shared just enough of her personal life, but not to much, and had a very sweet and humble attitude towards life. She got the waterworks going, and It took all I had to hold back the awful wail kind of cry that was ready to burst any minute. I had such a wonderful time, and will go next year for sure. I hope to convince more people to make it a top priority on their list. JUST FABULOUS!

Stephanie, I am so jelous! I went last year and had a blast. I wish so much I was closer so I could go to all of it. last year we only went to the friday session. Which was awesome. and well worth it. The prophet was one of the speakers. And I loved John bytheway. He is always incredible. Maybe next year we could go together. I would love it. Love ya Kriss

I'm a tad bit envious...(in a good Christ-like way of course :)
Sounds like it was fabulous, and just what was needed to 're-fill' the bucket!
It IS remarkable and such a blessing we live so close to so many opportunities like that.
Maybe next year I'll join you :)

I'm glad you got to go. I looove Women's Conference, but couldn't go this year. I am planning on going to Education Week, which if you haven't gone, is like Women's conference, but longer with guys attending too. It's so great. It fills my lamp with much needed oil and is a lot of fun too.
